Akumal Beach.
Beautiful sugar white sand beaches and a scuba center complete with
diving, swimming, snorkeling, fishing and windsurfing gear. Lol-Ha
restaurant and beach bar, pizzeria and ice cream shop on the beach -
also a few small boutiques and native goods from Mexico and Central
America.
South Akumal Bay is very secluded and located 2 miles south of Akumal Bay. It has a gorgeous white sand beach and a double barrier reef
just 100 yards off shore. The reef keeps the waters calm and clear for
terrific snorkeling and swimming and it has spectacular coral formations
with a variety of colorful fish. This bay is really something special
for the person who wants a lot of privacy. There are 20 luxury private
homes on the bay - no restaurants or shops - just peace and quiet!"
Half Moon Bay
Beach. This is a great place to hang out. The snorkeling is choice
in the bay, you will see a multitude of colorful tropical fish and
live coral reef. There are huge Brain coral heads in the center of the
bay. To the left is a nice stretch of reef. If you are a very strong
swimmer you can go behind the reef and snorkel into the mouth of Yal-Ku
lagoon. This activity is not for the novice snorkeler! Please also
remember that the coral reef is a live animal and can be harmed by
human contact!
Bahia de Puntas Soliman is a beautiful white sand beach. Quite
secluded and a perfect place for bird watching and snorkeling. The Last
Resort dive shop is close by or if you wish, Kayaking! Take a morning swim
out to the second largest barrier reef. This is a very low density
residential beach. Most of the homes are Palapa (Grass Roof) style. On the
other side of the north point is Calos Y Lalo's restaurant within walking
distance.
